Wearing of the Veil

Posted by Parsin on July 14, 2008

The following article is written by Mr A. Bazargan. It should be mentioned that what Mr. Bazargan says about Hijab (Veil) is his views and there are more moderate as well as conservative views on Hijab in Islam (or I should say at least in Shia). Some believe that covering the hair is not part of the Hijab meant by the God. They give sound reasoning for their claim and site many historical views in support of this viewpoint. On the other hand, some conservatives take harder views and believe that Hijab is more restricted than what some practice.

Among Shias, almost no one believes on covering the face, as it is practiced in some Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia today. On the contrary, they mention that this is against what Islam meant. They highly forbidden face covering.

Except some politicians, almost everyone in Iran believe that Hijab, regardless of our viewpoints, is not mandatory. People should be free to choose it or not to choose it. Actually, this moderate view is based on Quran where God calls on the freedom of choice in believing in religion. They believe that freedom is the cornerstone of any faith. Based on this view, what the governments of some Muslim countries are doing (forcing women to wear veil), has nothing to do with the true Islam as it was addressed by the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)!

The Life of a Chemical War Victim (photos)

Posted by Parsin on June 29, 2008

This deadly weapon was sent to Saddam by western countries. It was revealed later that the Germany was the place where the chemicals were shipped to Saddam’s Iraq to use it on Iranian soldiers.

Nowadays, once in while you hear one of these victims dies after many years of struggle for life. There is no escape. . . Only death is able to end the intolerable pain.

Muhammad and America, part 3/3

Posted by Parsin on June 4, 2008

Analysis of Some of the Propaganda Attacks Against Islam

3. Victory Over the Grave

In this section the writer states:

Mohammad is dead. Muslims follow a dead man. At the core of Christianity is the resurrection of Christ. The empty tomb validates the claims of Christ and inspires his followers. Over five hundred people witnessed Christ in his resurrected form. The resurrected Mohammad has yet to be seen.

Propaganda Attacks Against Islam

Muhammad and America/ part 2/3

Analysis of Some of the Propaganda Attacks Against Islam

2. The Morality of Mohammad

The second point that the writer mentions in criticism of Islam, and one which in his opinion has been ignored in this religion is the morality of Mohammad and lack of affection, sympathy and ethics on his part. In his view, Mohammad was a very rough individual who under the cover of the sward had enhanced his way and in this endeavor ransacked commercial caravans and assassinated his critics. The writer has cited verses in defense of his claim and says that the guarantee of salvation for mankind signed by Jesus, is acquired in Islam through Jihad and wars. He says:

Islam offers no morality in Mohammad, but we find purity in Christ. Jesus didn’t kill people. He didn’t pirate caravans. Rather than dismiss women, he honored them. And, most of all, he rose from the dead.

With respect to the above the following points are worthy of consideration:

Victims of the Chemical War

Posted by Parsin on May 25, 2008

The chemical weapon was provided by western countries! Saddam was encouraged to start an 8-year war on Iran. US and its allies along with Russia (USSR) supported Saddam to the best of their ability. They provided him with all types of information including precise satellite images, all types of modern weapons, and political support.

Then when he didn’t succeed, they provided him with huge amounts of chemical weapons. Most of chemicals were sent through Germany. He massacred Iranians and his own people using these chemicals, but at that time no one questioned him about these crimes. US allegedly supported Saddam in using these mass destruction weapons.

Mohammed’s Sword

The Pope’s Evil Legend

Mohammed’s Sword

By URI AVNERY

Since the days when Roman Emperors threw Christians to the lions, the relations between the emperors and the heads of the church have undergone many changes.

Constantine the Great, who became Emperor in the year 306–exactly 1700 years ago–encouraged the practice of Christianity in the empire, which included Palestine. Centuries later, the church split into an Eastern (Orthodox) and a Western (Catholic) part. In the West, the Bishop of Rome, who acquired the title of Pope, demanded that the Emperor accept his superiority.

Less Jobs, More Wars (video)

Posted by Parsin on April 27, 2008

While the battle between Obama and Clinton continues, and may continue for a while, it is critically important we start getting out the message about McCain. We don’t want the only story line to be about Democrats fighting.

And thanks to Joe Scarborough, we now have a brilliant McCain campaign slogan: Less Jobs. More Wars.

For two months, we’ve been trying to come up with a good name for our Issues ‘08 campaign, and there it is! Jason, Leda, Philip and Lissette jumped into action and put together these two fantastic short videos.

We need $100,000 immediately (like in the next week), so we can continue making these high impact videos, full-time, around the clock.

Can you chip in $50? We’ve got to start now.
